  • Specific Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the Design Department, to obtain a clear understanding of the style concept for every garment, to maintain the integrity of the original Design throughout the Production process.
    • Attend fittings and communicate technical changes, formulate corrections and provide solutions to factories globally.
    • Provide guidance to Vendors, and monitor the progress of a cut, with proper explanations and suggestion, using detailed images for better understanding.
    • Review outgoing samples and tech packages to ensure accuracy of information relayed to factories
    • Investigate and assist, as needed, in trouble shooting in line production problems related to patterns, construction, trim and markers.
    • Work closely with Production to prevent cost/yield changes, that could affect the CM.
    • Provide guidance to team members, and supervise all activities and proper procedures.
    • Coordinate and maintain spec development, grading, pattern corrections and sample approvals

     

    Skills and Requirements

    Competencies

     

     

    • Knowledge of garment construction and sewing techniques
    • Knowledge of Pattern making
    • Excellent verbal and written communication ability
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
    • Ability to mentor team members

     

     

    Education and/or Experience

     

     

    • 7 years’ prior technical design experience.
    • Experience with different types of Lines. Generation Tech Designers move as the workload requires, from Sportswear, Cocktail, Suiting and Denim, to Cut and sew Knits and Sweaters.
    • Apparel related Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred

     

                        

    Computer Skills

     

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Proficiency on a graphic program; Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator preferred.
