  • Specific Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    •  Assist in completing planned collection buys on time
    • Responsible for working with team to ensure timely flow of product
    • Provides input in creating the exit strategy and inventory aging standards
    • Review customer feedback of merchandise and provide information to management team
    • Ensure specific buying functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner

     

    Presentation

    • Work with cross-functional partners to ensure consistency of presentation of line, trend stories and maximize key investments
    • Provide insight to copywriters and creative team
    • Work along with a cross functional team to decide what styles move to markdown in a timely manner
    • Coordinate with Sample Coordinator to ensure all necessary samples are procured and processed 

     

    In-depth analyses and communication of business 

     

    • Manage and Communicate weekly selling reports, help evaluate stock levels to establish action plan, and generate reorders
    • Recap and evaluate seasonal performance by category
    • Review weekly business and note changes to financial plan
    • Provide insight regarding promotional needs to Buyer and creative team
    • Support the merchandising team to keep parties equipped with important product updates and performance

    Skills and Requirements

    Competencies

     

    • Retail or Merchandising background
    • Strong numerical and analytical aptitude
    • Ability to communicate and effectively follow through on assignments
    • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
    • Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
    • Technical aptitude and agility to learn web-based tools
    • Analyze trends, sales, gross margin, inventory and turn
    • Regularly review performance indicators and make suggestions to Buyer
    • Manage plans for inventory levels, reacting and communicating changes in demand and logistics
    • Participate in promotional activities, reviewing monthly calendar promotions
    • Adaptability/Perseverance

     

     

    Education and/or Experience

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • Minimum of 1 year professional work experience in a related field
    • Strong analytical ability
    • A passion for fashion is a must!
    • Passion for BCBGMAXAZRIA brand
    • Expertise in retail math
    • Highly organized, detailed-oriented and good follow up
    • Ability to make important decisions and the pressure of meeting demanding targets and tight deadlines set by the Buyer
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel  

     

    Computer Skills

    • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and internet research)
