Merchandise Planner (BCBGeneration)

Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Retail Buying Team to achieve agreed upon divisional and departmental merchandise plans. Update and forecast OTB on a weekly basis
  • Develop and monitor Buy Plans by Delivery in accordance with agreed upon OTB plans
  • Identify key drivers of the business and prepare appropriate actions plans.
  • Develop and manage Key Item Spreadsheets
  • Develop Sku – Assortment Plans by Merchandise Department
  • Prepare various analyses according to corporate objectives and strategies
  • Collaborate with Buying and Allocation to develop the proper store assortment and inventory mix (in terms of classifications, price points, etc)
  • Develop and execute Markdown and POS strategies in accordance with corporate strategies and goals
  • Collaborate with Allocation to monitor new store performance and ensure that allocation and replenishment is in line with corporate objectives and strategies
  • Work closely with Warehouse Team and Allocation to monitor receipts
  • Liaisons with IT to ensure data integrity for all merchandise reports
  • Master STS and En Vue systems and ACS, where relevant
  • Document and periodically update Merchandise Planning Business Process
  • Foster a strong professional working relationship with the Buying Team, Planning
  • Actively participate in all departmental meetings by sharing pertinent business information and fostering innovation and cooperation among all team members
  • Conduct weekly Warehouse walk-thrus with the Buying Team
  • Conduct periodic store visits
  • Attend Merchandise Planning/Allocation and STS User’s conferences

Skills and Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • 1-2 years experience Merchandise Planning within a specialty chain
  • 2-3 years experience merchandise allocation and replenishment experience within a specialty chain
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
